its very simple.
you can use a guitar cable. 1/4 " off of one end. now strip the outside rubber. you will probably seeing 4 things 1) some kind of cloth insulator wrapped around 2) the grounding wire (just copper usually), on top of 3) a black wire 3) a red wire
maybe a little different depending on where you bought it, but same principles!!
with a sodering iron strip the wires coming out of the contact mic (the type of mic used in telephones) and the now exposed wires from the guitar cable (3 and 4). don't worry about the grounding wire!! just cut it away. I sometimes recieve a tingle shock in my face when the contact mic is connected to my face with the sweat and drool exiting my mouth while playing drums but that is normal, and also exhilerating!
just solder the wires together, matching colors if possible, but i don't think it really matters. you can email me at mkoko8@comcast.net but i better not get any fucking spam. thank you.

gibson sets up his 3 boss pedals like that basically so he can turn any combiation of them on and off in one step, depending on how he places his foot across them. also, I guess it makes it easier to jump among pedals without having to lift his foot up... just spin it on his heel... my guitar player and I designed a lineup using similar ergonomics...

rad!!! i just got mine to work, no sodering required! i just twisted the wires together (although im sure using an iron would make it last a lot longer). thanks for the tips!

brian, the drummer, uses whatever cymbals he can get cheap at the pawn shop. I am almost convinced that his bass drum is an old fiberglass one(pearl brand.) I have seen/heard him crack a cymbal..... after awhile you could hear the crack just getting worse. He plays them as disposable instruments..... like drumheads. I have never seen anyone play that hard for so long.

yeah, they can get pretty loud. i've made about 8 of them, and they all vary in sound due to design differences. i dumpster dived for a lot of them, and the output jacks were about $1 each, so it's well worth your time. cheap and easy.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any experience using Roland electronic drums?...like these... www.rolandus.com/products/details.asp?catid=5&subcatid=22&prodid=TD%2D20S%2DWTThey cost an ass ton, but I tried one out in the store and you can put all kinds of effects on them. I noticed Brian putting triggers on his drums and trying to get a noise effect out of them, but these things look like the possibilities could be endless. Does anyone use these or know any bands that use them to experiment with noise? Thanks
